Program Overview:

The Junior Thrivers Program seeks to provide workshops, career development opportunities, and scholarships for transitional-age youth. This initiative aims to enact violence prevention by working in partnership with the community. Three Hart Connection aims to increase community safety while acknowledging youth who are often underrepresented in growth opportunities, provide space for these youth to engage in career readiness opportunities, and introduce resources that support their personal, professional, and academic growth.

Program Details:

The JTP is an 8-week-long summer internship program for youth ages 16-24. Youth chosen to participate will be expected to participate in program workshops and meetings for 8 hours each week, with a minimum time commitment over the 8 weeks being 64 hours. Interns are expected to be present in person at all program meeting days. All youth that complete the full program will receive a stipend of $500 each.

Program Take Aways:

By the end of the program, students will have gained basic clerical and professional skills and an in-depth understanding of power and control relationships. Those participating in the program will gain a basic knowledge of office/clerical skills and basic organizational support skills that can be used as a basis for further work experience in the future.

THRIVERS IN PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

MENTORSHIP

Our mentorship program is unique in its approach, focusing on the art of facilitation through storytelling, literature, and practical application. This innovative method equips our participants to become successful leaders in their own lives, uplift others, and educate the community about the importance of advocating for prevention. The mentorship, led by a professional facilitator with lived experience and a background as a victim's advocate, last from 4 to 6 weeks. Participants are provided with growth opportunities to support community engagement, financial independence, and career exploration. Successful participants receive certificates of completion, a testament to their dedication and growth.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Our support groups are a powerful tool for addressing specific concerns in a supportive setting. Three Hart Connection offers a weekly virtual trauma-informed peer support group for women 18+ who are Thrivers of acts of violence. This group provides a safe space for sharing experiences, learning from one another, and building a supportive community. Once a month, the group gathers to share a meal and participate in growth activities, including art, movement, and celebration, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment.

addressing resource insecurity

A result of domestic violence is often homelessness, loss of employment, and limited access to health care. Every year, we strive to address issues of hygiene, housing, and transportation insecurity by providing vouchers to support those in need.
